Easter Eggs for Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Alternate Special Edition and much more

Egg 1 to 3 all cool.

Egg 1: Hidden Messages.
Egg 2: Alternate Special Edition (*3rd* version of film on the disc!).
Egg 3: Hidden Japanese Trailers.

Egg 1: On disc 2, or side 2 if you have the single-disc release, notice how the main menu is NOT a still picture like all the rest (the counter is running). Let it cycle through a few times (it takes about half a minute each time) and one of four things (picked randomly I believe) will happen: 1) nothing, and it will begin a new cycle; 2) the box in the lower left corner next to Data Hub will shine with the words Join The Resistance; 3) the same box will shine with a circular symbol; & 4) the menu will morph into the T-1000's head commanding you to "Get out." If you click on the box when it says Join The Resistance, you get a secret message from John Connor which takes you to a DVD-ROM combat training simulation game. I don't have DVD-ROM so I don't know how good it is, but the message itself is cool and has a cute little reference to the Internet and a theory on how Mac-users might be the survivors of Judgment Day! This is the same message that is on Disc 1 when you click on the side of the endoskeleton's head when you check out the mission profiles of the cast and crew. The circular symbol, which I don't see come up as often as the others, takes you to an amusing little ad for Swelltone, whatever that is.

Egg 2: It's an extra 156 minute run of the film. It's the Special Edition, but with the "Future Coda" scene replaced at the end. For those who don't know about this scene and why it was cut, you'll have to review the DVD and movie.

- Choose "Special Edition."
- Highlight "Play Special Edition" and key in 82997 on your remote.

A. "The Future Is Not Set" will appear in the right hand portion of the setup screen, and the left eye of the Terminator will glow.

- Choose "Play Extended Special Edition."

A. If this does not work, try 8 enter 2 enter 9 enter 9 enter 7 enter to achieve the same effect.
B. If this still does not work, access Title 3 with your player. This is where the above methods deliver you anyway.

Egg 3: On side/disc 2

- Go to the trailers page.
- Move left to highlight the up/return arrow.
- Move down.

A small box in the bottom left corner will be highlighted. this takes you thru to a load of japanese trailers.

!Easier Method to access some of the eggs!

The Swelltone ad on the T2 disc can be found much easier if you just skip to track 60. The Future Coda scene's also directly accessible, rather than going through the big "documentary" or the 82997 method).
