For those of you who may have read elsewhere that the Deluxe Two-Disc set of "Batman Begins" had been discontinued, please let me put your minds at rest. I just spoke to Warner Bros. publicity who assure me the set is simply sold out, not discontinued. It will be back.

kinda silly that they even released the single disc edition seeing as how many retailers charged the exact same amount for the two disc edition (which was considerably cheap). They should have just stuck with the two disc only (I say this because I didn't bother to pre-order a Batman Begins Deluxe DVD and can't find it anywhere now, so I'm somewhat bitter about having to wait and now pay more eventually, but thanks for the info John).

Amazon's site says they still have the two-disc edition. Have you checked them?

Thanks for the info but I don't use credit cards and I'm little less than willing to mail cash. I'll wait for the next shipment.

Ya I wrote a fairly lengthy post on the subject of Warner Brothers releasing two versions in order to make more money on the Batman Begins review board, but it was called by some as whiny and needless. I happen to disagree. I'll try walmart again, but I doubt I'll have any luck finding it cheap.

Onijay,

Actually, most retailers were charging $20 or more for the 2-disc DE and around $15 for the 1-disc one. If this had been released as a 2-disc set only, we would have seen the price drop down to the $15 range. This is a gimmick that studios are employing in order to to charge you more. The cheapest price for the DE was at Amazon for $15.98 (it's OOS now).

Check out the website (DVD World USA) its on sale. I don't think it gets the 4 Collector's Cards as R4 did though.

I honestly don't remember a 3-disc edition, just the single, and 2-disc w/comic book (deluxe).
