Weatherman was just announced with wide and full screen versions, and it brought to surface something that has been on my mind for a long time: WHY? Why 2 versions instead of a dual-sided disc? Does anyone have insight on this?

I have no great insight, but I have some guesses. First, a double-sided disc costs more to manufacture. Second, selling two different versions on separate discs helps a studio to gauge how each format is selling and what the market is for the two screen sizes. And, third, they probably figure they'll sell more product.

"The Weatherman" is a brilliant film. Cage is a great actor for this role. Don't got to be a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.
