Heheh, I only have about 50 DVDs in my collection. As a college student, I can't afford the space and it's a hassle to move them between semesters. Also, it's hard to keep up with my other expensive (for a student) hobbies like PC upgrading and photography.
Hoever, I CAN boast about my very high repeat viewing of all my DVDs. I only buy DVDs of movies that I really like, so rewatching them is almost never a problem :)

Josh,
I'm a neo-student... gone back to graduate school to get my Master's degree. Unfortunately, I've still got the "I've got a job" mentality when it comes to buying DVDs. :)

Josh,
The trick is to not paying 20 a pop!!
I'm sure plenty on your list can be found anywhere from 5-15.

WOW A few of you put my collecton to shame I just bought DVD number 548 today. but that number is a bit deceptive because trilogies and box sets are counted as one and all my series of Highlander, Quantum Leap, Star Trek, DS9 and TNG are each counted as one DVD. So maybe I am not that far away from San Jose Shark.
P.S. San Jose Shark,
Go Red Wings, and Bruins. Yes I know the Bruins suck but I have loved them since I was 5, can't through 20 years of loyalty out the window. Good thing I have loved the Wings just as long or I'd be one depressed Hockey fan.

Depression,
I guess I should come clean... a fair portion of my DVDs (around 1/3) come from Blockbuster's "previously viewed" section, or pawn shops, for around $7 or $8 each. Thats not bad, but I'd much rather have the $5 price, Depression! ;)
Justin,
With all of my bills, as a full time student I'm barely able to have $15 or $20 per month for entertainment. Since I'm not working, student loans and the GI Bill are my only sources of income.
That's cool you're going after your Masters. I'm glad that a Masters in my field "Animation", is relatively useless. 4 years of school for a Batchelors is enough for me for now, I think. I've still got 3 to go! In the grand scheme of things, 3 years is such a small amount of time, but when school is all you do, day in, and day out, 4 years seems more like 10!
Chin,
The way you get around it as a student, is you find a box that holds all of your DVDs perfectly, keep them in there, and when you move into a new place, you just stand the box on it's side and use it as your shelf! ;) :D

You know, every time that I see this thread topic, I can't help but think that what everyone really wants to know is, "Who has the biggest ****?" Remember, it's not quantity that counts--it's quality. (y)

Of course, some of us have both.
