Downfall, Seven Samrai, Maria Full of Grace and Cronicas are my subtitle films, i am not very good at reading and watching at the same time. But those movies made it very easy cause they pull you in right away.

I only have 164. I have a lot more on.....(whisper) VHS. I have not replaced all my (whisper)VHS cassettes. Probably won't. Realized some movies I got on (whisper)VHS I really did not like anyway. I have gotten picky over the years on the movies I will go see and most likely those movies I will get on DVD or my wife will get. 164 is small but it will grow.

I've got around 200 (too lazy to get a precise count), but since 1997 I've purchased selectively, deliberately keeping my collection down to a realistic number. My criterion is that it has to be a film that I know I'll revisit and study many times. BTW, I watch about 300 films a year, half of which are repeat viewings. And since there are only so many movie-viewing hours per year, I doubt I'll ever exceed 300, including HDDVDs, because if you do the math, it would be impossible to see each enough times before the grim reaper comes knocking to justify a purchase versus a rental.
I've got a majority of the AFI's top 100, my favorites in world cinema (Bergman, Kieslowski, Ray, Kurosawa, Herzog, etc.), a few pesonal favorites (all Tarantino films, Oldboy, Takeshi Kitano movies, blah, blah, blah) and films that are just fun and look really cool on my HDTV, like the original SW trilogy. Sorry, but the prequels blow. I know it's hard for you fanboys to realize it now, but I'll bet the farm that historical perspective will vindicate me. In fact, I've already seen Sith listed on "10 Worst Films of 2005" lists. But that's cool, my motto is "film is subjective," so if you liked them, I'm happy for you. At least you didn't feel like you wasted your money *and* two hours of your life watching them like I did. :D

I have now passed the 700 mark with 711. Does anyone know if Eraserhead 2000 is different then the original release back in the 70's? any help would be much appreciated.

The "Eraserhead 2000" disc contains the same weird and wonderful original 1977 "Eraserhead."
