I just bought the new 2-Disc Sin City today and I have one very strange question. All over I was hearing that on the first disc (Theatrical Cut) it would include like before, Dobly Digital "AND" DTS. surround sound. Even this site's review of the set confirmed this. Imagine my surprise when I finally got it home only to discover that hey, THERE IS NO DTS. TRACK. Is this a mistake on behalf of the reviewers and posters? or is Dimension Films to blame? Does anybody else have this problem out there? Should I take the set back? Just what the hell should I do???

Showtime,
I don't know what set you got ahold of, but the Recut Edition of "Sin City" that Buena Vista is selling in Region 1 DOES have a DTS track for the regular theatrical version of the movie on disc one. If you go to "Setup," you will see choices for English Dobly Digtial 5.1 and English DTS. Clicking on DTS takes you to yet another screen that explains what playerback system you need to play the DTS track.
However, the extended version of the movie on disc two DOES NOT have a DTS track, only DD 5.1. I wonder if perhaps the discs aren't mixed up (they could have simply been packaged wrong), or whether you got two disc twos by mistake, or if you somehow got a bootleg edition, or if you got the wrong region. Anything is possible, but if you can take it back, do so. Something ain't right.

OH MY GOD!!!!, I can't believe this. It is totally worng. I was under the impression that Region 1 DVD's were sold in Canada and the U.S but after looking at my set more closely I was shocked to see that there was a copyright at the bottom of the back of the box that reads
"Copyright (c) 2005 Dimension Home Video"
"Distrubuted Exclusively In Canada By Motion Picture Distribution"
"Authorized For Sale In Canada Only"
It appears as though Canada has created their own version of the set and decided not to include the DTS track on the first disc. No where is Buena Vista's logo or name on the set. Just what the #$!@ is going on???????

My Region 1 copy also has the Dimension Home Video logo near the bottom of the back, but further under that, in very tiny print at the very bottom, it says "Copyright Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Inc."
Look at the bright side: At least you know now what the problem is. If you really have to have the DTS track, take yours back and look for a Region 1 release.

Alliance Atlantis distributed Sin City in Canada. They're the ones who you'd want to speak to regarding the missing DTS track. You're not the only one. I have a few friends who bought the Canadian edition with the same issue.
