Expect King Kong (2005) on DVD in April

Universal has mentioned many times that the King Kong DVD will be released around the same time as The Chronicles of Narnia DVD. But they haven't released any other info on the Kong DVD. Narnia will be released on DVD on April 4th.

From rumors that have been circulating around from more than 1 source, it seems that Peter Jackson's King Kong will be releashed on the 28th March.... Offical specs are still on released as of yet.

If i see that name again before the title im gonna puke.

March 28 has pretty much been confirmed as the date by a number of sources. Although, I don't think Universal has said anything yet, you could expect something soon. There has been a lot of clues hinding to March 28 as the release date. For example, first a few studios have set other films that seem similar (Planet of the Apes from Fox and a new single disc of the '33 Kong from WB) for March 28, citing the reason as wanting to tie it in with the release of the '05 version. Also, according to BestBuy.ca, they have it simply listed as being "coming soon" in a list that's all coming in March. A second retail source, one of the largest chains up here in Canada has a monthly flyer which announces what's coming this month and also just a little colum for coming next month, and Kong is on that list. And finally, I have a friend who works at Future Shop, which is pretty much Best Buy but on commission, and he's told me to expect it in March. So a lot of source are saying that March 28 is the date. All we have to do is wait for Universal to make it offical (I'm expecting that any day now!)

I say there will be 5 different editions of this Kong.

The King Kong DVD listed on Bestbuy.ca and in the flyer could be the single-disc edition of the 1933 version of Kong starring Fay Wray that Warner Bros. will release on March 28th.

Universal hasn't officially announced the release date for Peter Jackson's film yet.

Hopefully we get a King Kong deluxe DVD set with full scale replica of Kong. Hell, maybe a limited quantity will come with real life King Kong's! (although feeding that thing would be troublesome, unless many North Americans keep semi-nude gorgeous blondes around... then again...)
