Price drops on X-files and Star Trek

There has been price drops on X-files - Season 1-3. Each set is priced at $35. However, it does not have an extra disc that was part of the old set.

For Star trek - Deep Space (Seasons 1-3) & Next Generation (Seasons 1-3) are now priced at $52 a piece.

As far as I know these are permanent price drops. I hope they drop prices on later sets of Star Trek.:)

From what I understand, pretty much every store has these new sets. Only seasons 1-3 so far but they plan to release the other seasons (probably 3 at a time) in the future. Some stores may have a limited supply so if you don't see it at your local retailer you may want to ask them about it or just wait until you see it in stock.

Keep in mind that these are not the same as the previous releases. They are missing the bonus disc. The discs in these new sets do carry the same bonus materials as the same discs in the earlier sets. For instance, disc one in this new set will have the same extras as disc one in the old set.

If you want the episodes and don't care about the extras than this is the way to go. I picked up the second season. I was able to get the old seasons 1 and 3 when they were on sale for about 50 bucks or so.

I noticed the new X-Files sets recently, much more realistic price. I did not know that the Star Treks were going down though, this is nice as I was thinking about picking up the Next Generation here and probably explains why none of the stores around here have them in stock any more.

$52 still seems a bit steep for them, not nearly as bad as $75 though.
