I just watched this movie "Why we fight" and I can't believe some of the stuff in here. Through the power of media, and the fact that war is now the main thriving economy, we create enemies, and destroy other nations, all in the name of freedom! We are all sheep. What can we do to stop our own nation? excuse me... empire from doing whatever the hell we want? Who do our "leaders" think they are? The truth is that the USA is behind, or part of almost every war that has happened in the past few decades. Eisenhowers farewell speech about the Military Industrial Complex is flooring. I can't believe that he saw this coming, warned our whole nation, and no one did anything about it. Our leaders are taking advantage of us, by using the media to exploit our feelings of patriotism, and our desire to maintian our freedom.
Has anyone else seen this movie? Does anyone else know what I am talking about?

the irony is that eisenhower was a member of the military and also the most powerful man on earth when he was president. yet, he had the vision to warn the country against being run by self-serving industrialists.
after eisenhower we got kennedy and johnson, who expanded the cold war to such extremes that the military-industrial complex became permanently entrenched in american politics.

Didn't Eisenhower coin that term "military industrial complex"?
I didn't even know he was such a rad.
