A few days ago I bought The DaVinci Code on DVD from my local Ezy DVD store. I happen to get the Extended Version supposedly containing an additional 25 minutes of footage. Interestingly enough the Extended Edition seems to be only available in Australia. R1 USA and R2 UK make no mention of an available Extended Edition to add to that IMDB recognise only the theatrical cut. What’s the story hear? I've never heard of a one sole region receiving an exclusive release when it comes to big release films such as this. It’s obvious that after a few months of the theatrical release of a DVD that a couple of regions may receive an extended cut of a film as apposed to other countries but never on a first time release.

DVDTOWN only posts details given by official studio press sites for discs released in the United States.

They are indeed blessed down under. I live in the US but I have purchased from Australia's EzyDVD as well because they (Australia) often get versions of Hollywood releases that have additional material on them not available on the US releases. Besides, I really like that they offer many of the films encased in exclusive tins.
