Hey!

Entertainment Weekly is supposed to have a first look at Christian Bale in the new Batsuit in today's issue. Anyone seen it yet?

Here's a link to a story on it:

I'm all about super-hero movies. In fact the vast majority I've loved. But a few of them have had unfortunate titles. I think the next Batman is one of them. While everything I've seen on the movie so far, looks very interesting, and there's no doubt I'll go see it... but "Batman Begins"? It's the most uninspired title I've seen in a LONG time! I too am glad the Romanesque "nippled" body armor is gone. It seems like too many people have been given far too much liberty in trying to make Batman interesting again by tweaking this or that, "nipples" etc. If the rumors are true, it appears that they may have discovered the key... story writing, and simplicity!

And with my luck, they'll cast Jennifer Garner as Lois Lane in a new "Superman" movie!!! :.(

You're right on one point: Margot Kidder is not pretty.

The thing is, "Batman" and "Batman Returns" were more than just super-hero revenge movies. They explored Batman's psychology before sending him into final showdowns. Therefore, the movies have a lot of depth and perception.

Not so with other comics super-heroes, who all seem to be interested in nothing but endless fighting ("Blade", "Blade II", "LXG"). I don't think that Margot Kidder was pretty enough to be Lois Lane. As much as I liked the "X-Men" movies, I have a problem with the movies trying to cover so many characters--especially during repeat viewings. "Spider-man" is almost up there with Tim Burton's "Batman" efforts, but the problem is, I saw the movie five times in a theatre and am almost sick of it. :p

That being said, I'm going to try to watch "The Hulk" finally tonight and see if it was overrated, underrated, or just average.

Yeah, Blade I was awesome but Blade II was terrible. The new vampires were rip-offs of the Predator, the special effects were horribly overexaggerated or fake-looking, and the story was too complex. I think Underworld took the formula for Blade II and improved upon it, and I only hope the Extended Cut is good. Blade III has promise, though.

MY FAVE SUPERHERO MOVIES: (in no order, but Batman and Batman Returns are the best)
1. Batman
2. Batman Returns
3. Spider-man
4. X-Men
5. X2
6. LXG (It was cheesy, but I liked it. Very interesting)
7. Batman: The Movie (1966)
8. Superman
9. Superman II
10. The Hulk (very underrated)
11. The Crow

There are others, but these are the ones i can think of. There are many other great non-superhero comic book movies, like Road to Perdition and Ghost World.

TGP,

I dunno, that "Fantastic Four" movie from the 1980s was pretty good. :D
