Trailer here:

The first movie was pretty good. I know some people found it just so-so, but I liked it quite a bit. Hopefully it'll be as entertaining as the first without resorting to the typical "bigger, louder, sillier" sequel syndrome.

I enjoyed the first movie, right up to the ending when Chris Cooper got a big expository scene and started just telling the audience, who I assume the Filmmakers didn't think would be able to figure out the story, what had happened when it was clear as day through the entire film. But this looks like a good sequel, even if it doesn't follow the path of the book.

Yeah I saw the trailer before Van Helsing. Looks good. I hope the chase scene is as good as the first.

I read somewhere that they maintained the spirit of the first movie by having only one explosion. The rest is just Bourne and his enemies acting like "real" spies--calling as little attention to themselves as possible (with the exception of those car chases, of course, lol).
It's great to see good actors in these kinds of movies--Joan Allen, Brian Cox, etc. I usually hate cameos, but Julia Stiles's appearances in these movies seems like fun for some reason.

Yes, let's hope it lives up to (and can we hope, to improve on :o) its predecessor!

I hate to make such an obvious speculation here, but it seems to me that the majority of people seeing "Supremacy" might be male. And conversely, the vast majority of people seeing "Cat Woman" might be female, as this movie seems to be presented as a "girl power" movie. Granted, they're trying to get the male draw with Halle Berry scantily clad (which I must admit would be the only reason I'd see the movie). The SFX appear to be sub par, and with Halle hissing and spitting like an actual house cat, make for a ridiculous appearance of what's supposed to be the strong and charismatic heroine.

depression,
yeah, the hand-held camera work was irritating, which is why i'm not giving the movie a 10/10. i'm going to write a full review sometime tonight.

*Cheers* to everyone who saw this and not Catwoman this weekend.
I love the fact that these movies are intelligent and have a sense of authenticity. There is no overabundance of explosions or death defying stunts to challenge your disbelief. One of the best assets spy movies done right have is the unknowing of what will happen next, the unpredictability factor. Which Supremacy like it's predecessor succeeds in creating.
Greengrass did a fine job. Though the camera will sometimes make you feel discombobulated, he throws you right into the action. I love the European fall/winter scenary as we watch Bourne city hop. SOOOOOO many movies are NYC based it's nice to see some different cities for once on screen. If I hadn't looked at the credits I never would have guessed it was done by different directors. The look, feel, and atmosphere is all here from Identity.
Kudos to Karl Urban. He may not have had a lot to do here but I liked the presence he gave off.

This one was amazing. My expectations were really high, and the movie exceeded them. Before the car chase, the movie was already a decent action thriller. When the car chase ended, I could sense the audience letting out a collective sigh of relief as well as letting go of their armrests or dates.
The actors were all great (especially Matt Damon and Joan Allen). It was surprising how much emotion they were able to wring out of the few, brief quiet scenes.
This is a phenomenal effort that gets a 9/10 from me.

52 million on an opening weekend is amazing. I can only imagine Bourne Legacy is already in the works.
I guess I underestimated the amount of authentic spy thriller fans out there.

just saw this one today and loved it. it is one of the best spy movies i've ever seen. the movie, like the first "Bourne", is primarely a cat-and-mouse chase, but this one is certinaly and exciting chase.
my thoughts
8/10
(would have been 9/10, but as many of you have stated before, the shaky camera work got very annoying. it served its purpose by making the film look more realistic, but it really got to be sort of a hassle and an annoyance later in the movie.)

Eddie,
One more thing. In The Bourne Identity, Conkilin says "I want them all activated." That would be Clive Owen, the one that killed Conklin, and the one that jumped out of the window. That would have to mean that he is the one killed Conklin, because there isn't other treadstone assasins. I know it's a small thing, but damnit.

TWill,
I know what you mean, especially with the actors looking alike. However, the guy who killed Conklin seemed much more serious than the guy in this movie. Plus, the sequel takes place two years after the first movie, so we can assume that the guy who killed Conklin died in between movies, lol.

I too thought the movie was excellent. Along with Spider-man 2 and I, Robot and the upcoming Manchurian Candidate good too see some imtelligent summer movies. I have one question: Was the assasin that Bourne fought with the rolled-up magazine, the character in the original who killed Concklin? Of course, it was a different actor, but he said only Bourne and him were left. If so, wonder why the original didnt come back?

Wow, wow, wow, and more wow! I knew this movie would be better than the first, but I did't expect to be gripping my armrest so tight as to leave permanent fingerprints on it! The car chases were I N S A N E!! I thought Eddie was kidding when he said you'd be glad to have the car chases over with, but he was right! It wasn't that it was too much for the movie, rather that it was just so intense for such a long period of time, that you needed a breather for a minute or two!
I've heard a lot of people complain about the "hand held camera" feel to the whole movie, and that it was "too distracting" and what not, but I didn't mind it at all. I think Director Paul Greengrass probably wanted to create a feeling of being right there with Jason Bourne, experiencing everything he was... like you were running along side him or something. I liked it a lot!
Excellent movie.

Yeah, the final scenes were amazing. Bourne really gets beaten up a lot in this movie.
SPOILERS AHEAD
I liked the little but important things like after Bourne misplaces his fall onto the boat, he has a small limp for the rest of the movie, and how he is really exhausted before he gets into that taxi cab for the final chase.
He doesn't keep his cool like he did in the first movie, he really looses it a few times (like with julia styles character, or at the end of the final chase).

I just watched this movie today, it was really entertaining!
Like many, I initially found the shaky camerawork annoying, but later on I adapted. Too many grainy closeups in the beginning arrrrgh. Someone either really liked to stick cameras in the face of their actors or intensely loved long lenses.
Anyway, I was riveted till the end, but here's something I didn't expect and rather shocked me:
*SPOILER*
I can't believe Marie died 10 minutes into the movie! I was stunned! They just...KILLED...her! Although I'd understand the reason for doing it. The movie would feel too much like the first one and it'd be hard to let Jason do his thing efficiently. At the same time, it feels kinda cool for a summer action movie to take little gambles like this.
