Right, it's all a matter of situation. But the more logical winner would of course be Storm. If they were fighting I wouldn't expect Storm to ever let him get that close to her in the first place, but then again Wolverine is all about tactics and stealth.

In general I still think of Xavier and Magneto as two of the most powerful mutants. But marvel and consistancy are like water and oil. Even Gambit has had his time to shine as the most powerful. He got to the point in which he no longer had to physically touch something to kinetically charge it. Even to the point in which he could kill ppl at the thought of it. But then you have all this quantum leaping and multi dimension crap blah blah blah.

If Sabertooth does return I would love to see some acknowledgement between him and Logan. These two characters have a long history together, and as a friend pointed out, a simple name exchange "Victor" "Logan" would have made this apparent. It would have also given a sense of reason as to why Victor kept Logan's dogtag. But instead Sabertooth is merely shown as a goon working for Magneto.

they never put any attention to the fact that they know eachother other than the dog tags thing, but i hope they didnt kill off sabretooth. even though he didnt look too much like sabretooth in the movie.

Yeah, when I say Xavier and Magneto I was excluding any of those near god like mutants/beings.

Onslaught was pretty powerful as well =D.

Topher,

Any one can sneak up on any body else for a surprise kill. I'm talking about a known, pitted match.

Anyway, at the rate that you're going, you're no better than Onijay.

whats wrong with posting? Oh, you see, now I'm the "last post person" once again...
Don't you find that strange thats it's my name strung along 50 posts? Or intimidating? I just have a lot to say.

Ok TGP, I hope you're following this thread, because this discussion is the closest we've gotten to the "I bet Mightymouse could beat up Superman" debate, I've EVER seen at DVD Town! :D

all I 'm posting is what I read from their press statements. Or whatever they're called. And the thing with storm and wolverine: what if wolverine is right in front of her? All he has to do is claw her once, she has to conjure up a storm, it's a little slower than his strike.

well, they were wasting her character any way. storm is more powerful (at least physically) than any of the other mutants that we have seen, but she always has little to do. in fact, berry was dis-satisfied with being marginalized. it makes sense that she wouldn't return, though perhaps they could use another actress in the role.

for the mutants we've seen so far,i would have to say wolverine would be more powerful physically

Clip her character entirely then. There are more than enough Xmen that needed more spotlight time. Just make something up for her, kind of how Angel was only mentioned. Xavier was talking to William Worthington on the phone.

Cyclops definitely needs more screentime after X2

The rumored Gambit

Colossus and Jubilee could take bigger parts but I think Rogue/Iceman are all the teeny mutants needed.

They said Gambit would never be in the films becusae his powers are too similar to cyclops, and his personality too much like logan. I want flying rogue!

What I meant was that Storm's powers had physical manifestations that were more powerful than any other physical power (as opposed to the mental powers of Xavier and Jean Grey). If you pitch Storm against Wolverine, the latter would surely lose (see fight between Storm and Sabretooth, who is similar to Wolverine).

Actually Singer had Jackman's stunt double (James Bamford) do a Gambit cameo so I wouldn't rule him out. Though the cameo never made it as an extra at least from what I've seen on the discs.

ya! have you actually seen Superman lately? He's getting a little soggy especially aorund the midsections, he's got a major beer gut and he hasn't shaved in at least a month (personally I think he could use a shower, but thats just me). Now I don't know how things are done on Planet Krypton (the planet that has interstellar travel, but cant see a global meltdown coming, and when they finally do... nobody tries to fly away... if that tells you anything about the planets population) but I persoanlly think Superman is gonna need a personal trainer to compete with MightyMouse... but thats just me.
We Love You MightyMouse! WHOO!
P.S. I probably have every Superman fan hating me (I can just see Kevin Smith beating down my door with his original 80 page treatment of 'Superman Reborn') but please note all I say should not be taken literally... much like myself. ;)

Topher,

It's unlikely. Unless he's going to get a huge paycheck. He stated he would only do 3 X-men movies. So I'm guessing he wants to diversify his resume and get away from Wolverine.
