hi all
so i am looking for a new dvd player. anyone have any recommendations?
progressive scan not requiered, but its ok if it has it.
model numbers are appreciated as well.
the only real requierment is that it needs to be a high-end player(whatever that means)

TIA

get a toshiba. mine has never given me any problems, and there's only one dvd in my collection that it can't play. most likely, the newer models can play just about anything.

yeah, multi-disc players are no good at all.

LOL!

Awaiting fifer's reply...

edit: BTW, fifer, you need to decide whether or not you care about DVD-audio/SACD. If not, we can ignore those features that bring the price of the player up.

Whoa there Ed, "get a Toshiba" isn't much of an advice ;)

But fifer55, before we can begin giving recommendations, we need to know:
- what is your budget
- what is your current setup
- whether you plan to "upgrade" your setup in the near future

Dude!!!!...Get an APEX! :D
hehehe
It might last a year (unless you watch a lot of DVD's) . By then, the new HD-DVD players should be out and you'll have that extra $$ for it.
That's what I did, and I am still keeping my fingers crossed! ;)
If you don't have HDTV or planning to get one, I would get a better player an dplan to keep it for a while.

Please don't refer to personally engaging in illegal behavior (i.e. using pirated DVDs). We don't want to know about your manufacturing of/purchasing unauthorized copies of movies.
