I have the Smasung dvd-HD941 which I love... It is connected by the HDMI* cable and last night, about 1 hour into the dvd, the connection started flashing i.e. signal on signal off (when off it was just a black screen)... I checked the component output and it was fine. I connected the DVI-D cable to the hdmi output and it was fine that way. I tested the HDMI input on the TV and it was fine. Could it be a faulty cable? the only two things I can think of are Faulty cable or some sort of overheating

I would guess, since you tested both sides... that it is cable.
