Hi,

I have a Philips DVP630 (called 640 in North America). Whenever I play a multi angle dvd the player writes an annoying label on the right side of the screen which tells me what angle I'm using. Does anybody know how to remove it? Couldn't find anything on the manual.

that's bizarre-- the same thing is actually happening to my friend and he can't figure it out either-- let me know when you figure it out so I can share the wisdom.

Forgive my asking, but what "multi-angle" DVDs are you referring to? I have never seen a regular movie issued in multiple angles. In fact, the only DVDs I'm aware of that utilize this feature (other than among brief, DVD bonus items) are a few dance programs and some adult films.

Anyway, as I understand it, the Philips multi-angle players permanently display an angle marker on-screen. You may just have to get used to it.

The only movie that I own and have tried to use with multi-angle viewing is Pearl Harbor, but I'll be damned if I could tell the difference. My DVD player gives me a no response (circle with slash, think no smoking signs) for every disc I've tried it on except for Pearl Harbor. Since I have only watched Pearl Harbor a grand total of two times, I couldn't possibly tell the difference.
