I had a CD RW. It was difficult to RE-write for me.
Also, when I wanted to restore something I had backed-up,
the backup software saw that the backup file was there,
but couldn't recognise the file. I was unhappy.
I don't know if this will help but...
I am now considering getting an IDE to USB@/firewire converter
and hard drive holder and gettind a hard drive or two. I saw a 160 Ghz
internal offered for $40! today.

Your being very cryptic about your query here. Now what exactly are you putting these DVD+RW's into? A recorder or a player? If its a player and there is nothing on it then stop reading here and go buy "how to find out your an idiot for dummies" guidebook. If you have recorded onto the disc and its not reading it then it is very possible your DVD player is not compatible with DVD+RW's. I have found in the past that for the cost of a DVD-R there is no point in all this RW nonsense but thats up to you, also i have found that -R's work much better with just about everything but maybe thats a personal preference.

If you are placing the discs into a recorder and getting that error it may mean that your recorder is only -R compatible in which case you will need to find the instructions and find out if it is -RW compatible. Some DVD burners, although not many now, can write to -R's but not -RW's or they can write to +R's but not +RW's. You may be in one of these situations. If this is the case and the DVD burner is on your PC then save up 50 dollarydoo's and go buy a +/- R, RW, R Dual, RW Dual burner and save yourself a lot of hassle.

Hope i have answered your question adequately up there somewhere but next time at least try to give us a bit of a clue as to your SPECIFIC problem without me having to type lots of drivvel.

I also found that just getting a new disk was easier than "RW-ing".

Thanks for your "nice " reply Scotster.
