I am computer shopping, and am going for the CD/DVD BURNERs.
Does anyone have an opinion as to ***software***?
I want it mostly for backups (also backing up music CD's to an external hard drive) (and for risk-free lending), :) and for custom music CD's.
The software which comes with the burners is Dell/MusicMatch Jukebox or Jukebox PLUS. However, they offer enhanced burner software: Sonic "DigitalMedia" for CD's, and "MyDVD Plus" for DVD's (duh!). The Jukebox PLUS is much cheaper, but I think it may be difficult or may not do everything I need.
There are also other programs I could get retail, but if it doesn't install right, I have to ...um "mess" around with it.
--thanks!

Completely ignore everything that anyone trying to sell you something tells you.
Get your hands on NERO and bin everything else. Hold your horses for a few weeks though as Nero 7 is coming out soon and its the dogs biscuits!! Its a VERY professional tool that is VERY easy to use. If you want to get down and dirty with the most complicated of options they are there for you but if you want to simply copy a cd or make a music cd its as simple as drag, drop and click.
Feck i should be getting commission here!!!

Thanks.
I got burned w/Nero once as it REALLY screwed up my computer when I installed it.
So I'm a bit untrusting of them now.
I saw Roxio got a great review at PC Mag.

I have always hated Nero, it has too much crap bundled with it. I use a freeware burner, it doesn't have the nifty interface of commercial software but it works.
This isn't an ad for it, but I figured you may ask what it is anyway.
