portable dvd player extra back up battery choices and sources

hi...i'm going to be flying to australia soon and need, needless to say, the very best (longest life) extra battery source for my portable dvd player ...i would be very grateful for any ideas re: choices and sources

I'm all about long-lasting rechargables. Energizer and Rayovac make some, but potential outlet voltage differences might end up being a problem.

i'm wanting a backup battery source for a portable dvd player...i don't see how regular batteries will work?....i've seen them at circuit city: bulky attachments to the portable player...i'm just looking for the best one... ... ideas?

Are you speaking of an alternate current adapter? I know you can buy adapters that plug into cigarette lighters, then have 110v outlets to plug into. Or do you just want a long-lasting battery pack that will plug into your AC adapter slot on your portable player? I'm not sure if that exists.

Googled: battery "portable dvd" and got several results. Not sure if this might help any.

Now here's a topic I know nothing about and have no advice to offer. I normally wouldn't write anything in a thread like this because of my lack of knowledge in this department. So, it's not an ignoring the member thing, it's just that I know nothing about backup battery choices.

I bought a portable DVD last year and was concerned about the same thing. I bought a battery from batterygeeks.net:

I didn't get the 14+ hour one but got the 6-8 hours battery and it worked really well, but we were only travelling within North America. They were really good and I haven't had a problem.

You probably don't need it now since it has been a while but thought it could be used in the future.

If your portable DVD player uses AA batteries than I would recommend rechargeables that are at least 2500mah. Those puppies should last you a good amount of time on one charge and you can always get an adapter for the charger.
