I saw this film Tuesday. I must say, I was pretty disappointed. It wasn't horrible, but I expected a lot more out of it. Julianne Moore, Dominic West, and Gary Sinise all played their rolls very well, and it was good to see "Anthony Edwards" ('Goose' from 'Top Gun') on the screen again. But the story lacked substance for me.

The idea of the film isn't a new one, but it appeared that 'The Forgotten' was going to take it in a new direction. Instead, it didn't really go anywhere. At the end of the film I found myself extremely frustrated. The trailers are boasting it as "the biggest jaw-dropper since 'The Sixth Sense'". I would greatly disagree. "The Forgotten" was spooky in places, but I didn't find it anywhere near as scary as "The Sixth Sense".

Josh,

The trailer made this movie look like "The Stupid".

LOL... well, I'm an avid fan of scary movies. I thought it looked promising. Don't worry Eddie, I'm sure you'll get the chance to review it in 8 months or so. ;)

got to see it this evening, and i agree with you, Josh. the forst 2/3 of the movie werent bad, usual mystery fare. but that fact that bearely anything was explained and the ending ruined it for me. very un-original. in case you want to see it, the ending is so stupid, that i guessed it half as a joke after 30 minutes.

overall:
3/10
