Hey,
Firstly, great work on the new site design guys. It's looking good. But there is one little thing that I don't like about it. It's probably just me but, I don't like the Times New Roman text used in some parts of the site - on reviews. It looks a little tacky. :p
But, like I said, it might just be me. Being a webdesigner myself I never really use that font, so I might have grown out of it or something, lol.
Anyway, thanks and keep up the great work guys.

As a Web and graphics designer myself, I hate Times Roman as well. Arial & Verdana look much better for dynamic text. Other then that, the site freaking rocks! Yeah baby. :D

Times New Roman is the standard, default text font in most word processors, like MS Word, Word Perfect, and Word Pro. It's what a lot of people are used to seeing, so maybe that's why the editor chose it.

We felt that it would be a good font when you have to read a lot of text like reviews, articles and these forums.
So it was chosen more for easy read purposes than good looks (Even though I like it ;) )

Well. . .sorry, I'm just a real visual person and I find Times Roman distracting to the eye, but to each his own. Overall, this is the best makeover I've seen yet to DVD town. Excellent job guys! I'm very impressed. ;)

I do agree. This site is just outstanding. Personally, I thought the last version of the site was one of the most attractive DVD site designs going, and now it's even better. Obviously a lot of thought went into the design. Well done!
Regarding the text, I tend to agree with Tim, but I think it looks fine. As a rule, Serif fonts like Times New Roman should be used on printed paper, while sans-serif fonts should be used for information mapping on computer screens. That's why MS Word defaults to Times New Roman when it's pulled up, as it's generally used for printed communications. But when you use MS Word for email (through Outlook, for example), the default is actually Arial, a sans-serif font. Again though, it looks fine on this site. Not worth changing the whole site over. I think it's still attractive and readable, and it's not like you're posting "War and Peace" or anything that requires extended reading time.
Overall, it all looks great.

Interesting hypothesis, KP...
I use Veranda on my website, WRPNAM.com because that's what I was told to do. But I've never actually heard a reason to do so... and that's a very compelling one. And it makes sense, too... since I do all of my publication writing in TNR, and it always looks better when I print it off.
