hey, i just wanted to remind everyone that we're always looking for new reviewers. therefore, if you're interested, just use the reader feedback form (a link is available at the bottom right-hand corner of every dvd town page). :)

Ive been a film/DVD critic over at The Average Joes Networks but its been under construction for some time now and I havent reviewed much lately. Reviewing here sounds very tempting, but im not sure.

we've been trying to add women to our staff for years, but as has been observed in other threads, there don't seem to be many women in the game. alison mcmahan writes reviews of documentaries once in a while, but she's not a persistent force.

maybe you could give it a shot, karrie. :)

i hope some women apply for the job, not that you guys don't do a great job..but I would like to see a woman do some reviews in addition to yours :)

Yeah Ive been doing it for free also. I was just curious if it was different other places. I too do it for the love of movies (is it just me or does that just sound a lil odd?). But now not just movies but DVDs aswell.

I own about 700 or more DVDs at the moment (i got tired of counting). When I first became a member I tried to put them all in My Collection but now Ive been getting so many I just decided to stop.

Critic69204,

Nothing is free, my friend, unless you call the hours you'll spend watching a film, most often one you don't like, and the hours it will take you to write up the review worth the dubious opportunity to hang on to the promotional disc. Most reviewers at most Web sites do the job out of a pure love of movies; otherwise, the job is nuts.

Depression,

Deadlines are self-imposed. If we get a disc ahead of street date, we like to let readers know about it as soon as possible. We do our best.
