Yes, The Rundown was gorgeous due to the lush and bright jungle environment.

Carl4520,
I hope you're joking. If "Black Knight" is a favorite "demo" disc, you might want to consider a hobby other than home theater. ;)
roquefilms is right! As odd as this may sound, the "enhanced" version of "The Lion King" rocks! I watched this version just to see why Disney put the track on there. It's really impressive! You get better surround dispersion, and more "thump" with the elephants walking past the screen in the opening scenes. Way to go Disney!

Actually 'The Lion King - Platinum Edition' is AWESOME when you play it on 'Disney's Enhanced Theater Mix'

I think White Men Can't Jump also qualifies.
Easily one of Fox's best releases as far as visuals on one of their dvds go. Sunny LA never looked so good.

I'm definitely a Saving Private Ryan/U-571 demo disc guy. The Space Crystals scene in Titan A.E. is pretty killer as are most of the portions of Band of Brothers. Man, those battle DVDs are the greatest for sound! Think about it: Gladiator battle scenes, LOTR battle scenes, The Thin Red Line battle scenes. Gotta love aural assault!
I still think that the Lobby Scene in the Matrix is a great example as well. It's one of the first demo scenes that I ever had, and I feel it holds up pretty darn well today!
Sean (holds up well...unlike my sanity!...):D

I saw "Hellboy" the other day and it was better than I tought it would be . The review from DVD Town was right on the money. It might not be a show off disc but the sound is great and I bet on a HD TV it looks great as well. I also agree with Jurassic Park (DTS)! Musiccoop

Speaking of Disney- Just saw the new version of Aladdin and the sound is quite impressive as well colorful pictures. My excuse to get it was when we have grandchildren ( it's a ways off) they'll have something great to see! Will probably get Mulan when it comes out as well. Since both my son and I are into martial arts that will be my next excuse! Musiccoop

i thought aladdin looked 30 times better when they redrew some of the scenes. It got rid of the tacky-ness that I felt it used to have.
