i loved the first movie, man. thought it was better than LOTR, actually, though the longer version of LOTR could be the big kahuna.

eek! I just heard the same thing from this other guy on mIRC about how HP is better than LOTR, you've gotta be kidding me! Well, to you, what are the strengths and weaknesses of both movies?

LOTR 1 felt a bit rushed. I would've liked a 4/5 hour version. For additional thoughts about LOTR 1, you can read my original review here at DVD Town. As for Harry Potter 1, I thought that it told its origin story very well without getting bogged down in details like Spider-Man or Superman.
