Trailer is out and about.
Looks good, but then again I also thought Alexander looked good and look how that turned out. But I have confidence in Ridley. It'll be interesting to see Orlando taking on the lead.

I'm not interested in whatever is politically correct, like this movie is sure to be.

Disappointing. I thought it was decent, but nothing as atrocious as Alexander. The story is somewhat hard to believe. It's difficult to believe a story in which a blacksmith could rise to become king as quckly as the fairy godmother made cinderella a princess. This quote sums it up pretty well...
"The emptiness is personified in the inconsistent character Balian. He is humble, then idealistic, then, suddenly, he springs into action as a military genius—based solely on a lesson from long gone Liam Neeson"
It's gorgeously shot and looks beautiful but it's very uninvolving. Instead of feeling immersed you feel like you're on the outside looking in.
I respect the fact that Ridley strayed away from showing signs of favoritism, but it backfired and the audience ends up not caring much for either side.
I didn't mind Orlando, but he was still very wooden here. Then again, it's not as if the story really gave him anything to work with.
The action was good, but after Gladiator, LOTR, The Last Samurai, Troy, Alexander, you get the "been there done that feeling"

I liked it. Harry Gregson Williams does an amazing job with each of the Metal Gear Solid Games.

Just saw the film. Bloom even if surrounded by stars like irons, neeson etc etc, is not capable of "lifting" a movie of this magnitute. The visuals are great like all of scott's epic work... but really bloom was a mistake...maybe the need for a box-office atractor rose...but not in this movie...anyway i think that its a good kick-off for the summer box-office season

Did you realize Norton was the King?
I thought it was him, that voice is very distinct. But I wasn't sure until I got home.

Historically another poop but it does have visuals. I thought the acting was good, even Blooms. Its no Gladiator because you don't get emotionally caught in the characters. but its worth a trip.
