Amazon Theater and the Tribeca Film Festival today announced the Amazon Theater/Tribeca Film Festival Short Film Competition. Starting today, through April 13th, filmmakers will be invited to submit their short films to an audience of millions, with the chance for a grand prize of $50,000. On April 20th, the films, which should have a total run time of 2 to 7 minutes and be appropriate for a general audience, will be presented in the Amazon.com Tribeca Screening Room where customers will be invited to rate them, on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, to determine the five finalists. At the end of May the finalists will be featured on the Amazon.com welcome page over five weeks. Amazon.com customers will again be invited to rate the five finalists to determine the winner, who will receive the $50,000 grant for a future film project.
