The poster sucked....the first trailer avaiblle wasnt good, just when you thought good ol' spiley lost his touch after his latest mild films....came the TV Spot. Ritualistic soundtrack adds to the emotion of the end...and a brief scene which gives you a small inside of the spectacle! enjoy the "War of the Worlds" Superbowl TV Spot at - EXTERNAL LINK -

Heh, wasn't the superbowl about 2 months ago?

I caught it during the bowl, I was pretty impressed, but still not much was shown. At least we saw a portion of a scene this time.

This is exactly what I've been ticked about!! I'm glad Spielberg is only "teasing" us! I'm sick and tired of studios releasing trailers where you can guess what happens throughout the movie because they give away too much in the trailer!! I'm actually a little surprised at Lucas showing us so much footage in the Episode III trailer recently released! I would hope that as the release date of WOTW get's closer, Spielberg sticks to his guns, and doesn't show us anything in the upcoming TV spots that will give anything major away. After watching an interview with Spielberg and Lucas about WOTW, he (Spielberg) said that even when he was first starting out as a director, he wanted to do a remake of WOTW, but thought that it had been done so many times, or spoofed so many times, that there wasn't a "different" way to tell the story. He must have found that different way, because he seemed pretty adamant about a "new" version being unique. Unfortunately all we can do is wait and see. Personally, I'm curious to see what a $350,000,000 movie looks like!

It seems odd that we have to wait until AFTER Episode III to see WOTW. In any case, this should be yet another killer year in movies!
