The good parts were really good, but the bad parts were really bad. Plus, Halle Berry looks like she doesn't know how to hold a gun. I recommend this movie because it is a Bond film, but for those of you who do not care about Bond, then feel free to pass on an ordinary, disappointing action flick.

A very good Bond movie that in my book ranks as one of the best Brosnan films. It also has one of the best Q scenes in any Bond movie.
Worth a look.

I loved the Q scene as well, Henning. However, like I said, I thought that the bad parts were really bad. I hated the last 10 minutes--I could not tell what was going on because the editing was so frantic and the camera work was atrocious (too tight on the action so everything looked indistinguishable). Also, the filmmakers used the [pause-zoom-pause] camera trick too many times for it to matter to me. [:(]

Remember how XXX wanted to out-do Bond? Ironically, DAD was more over-the-top than XXX--to little good. Rosamund Pike is the best Brosnan Bond girl since Izabella Scorupco, though. [:)]

Too long; too many explosions; too many chases; too many gimmicks; and the worst theme song of any Bond movie ever made. That said, I liked it better, overall, than any of the Brosnan Bonds since GoldenEye and better than most of the Moore Bonds.
Subtract about twenty minutes worth of frenetic action sequences, and you'd have a tauter, more exotic, more suspenseful, more adult Bond.
I want the Aston Martin.

Hmmm, I wonder if Naomi Watts would ever consider being a Bond girl? And as far as Bond themes go, I don't think there's been a decent one since Live and Let Die!
The action doesn't bother me much but when it starts to get cheesy it makes Austin Powers movies look serious. I rather like the pause-zoom-pause camera trickery myself. It's fancy, it's new and I like it much better then you... Sorry, I just like the sound of that!
I thought it was the most different Bond I've seen in a long time and I enjoyed what they did with the character. The outcast, Rogue rebel Bond... I don't know what they were going for but I liked it! Even the structure that we're used to seeing in
Bond movies was different, and the makers, at least, challenged themselfs. I'll admit there was a fair amount of cheese and I can't say Hollys acting was anything breathtaking. However, who was the blond girl agent? Wow! Now that girl needed a spanking!!!

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Just saw DAD last night, with three other guys and man where we dissapointed! It has some good elements in it, but the gadgets are completely ridicules. It is like they thought well never mind the story, as long as we have lots of stupid unrealistic gadgets, everything will be fine.
Also there are a lot of really stupid scenes in it.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
For instance the scene where Bond is being chased on the ice in his car (the one with the Romulan cloaking device). When the bad guy starts shooting missiles at Bond, Bond turns the car around and fires back and miracously hits the other missiles in mid air. But when Bond turns the car around again why do the bad guy stop firing? He could just have fired another missile and destroyed Bond? Stupid. Halle Berry is rather cool though. 2 out of 5 for DAD.
