At least 10 times after typing in a post (always longish), after submitting I get directed to the log in page. Of course, when I hit the BACK button on my browser, my (unsubmitted) post is gone.
It is extremely frustrating when this happens, as many times I will have spent 20-30 minutes typing a post. Do I just have to always remember to copy my typing to the clipboard before hitting the POST TOPIC button? Or is there a way to retrieve the post after getting the log-in prompt?

Bruce thats happened to me a couple of times also. I think the server has a timeout for connections whereas if you connect and there is no activity the server will disconnect you and you have to log back in. The timeout can be changed to say 10, 15, 20 minutes and so on. You can basically make it whatever you want and you can also disable the timeout completely on most server applications. I'm not sure because I obviously don't work on this particular server myself but I'm pretty sure thats whats happening. I feel your pain. Just copy and paste it or type the whole thing in notepad first and then paste it here ;)

Thanks for the explanation, Falcon. Maybe the server timeout can be adjusted (or eliminated) by management and that will solve the problem. I just have to remember to copy my work before posting here, if I've spent more than, say, 10 minutes typing it (maybe I can do a test)

Please be aware that the Editor is aware of the site's current limitations and is working to solve them sometime soon. Trust me; be patient.

It's been doing that to us for over six-years, how patient do we have to be?
