What's your opinion? I'm sure Star Wars, War Of The Worlds, Batman Begins, and The Chronicals Of Narnia, will all be in the top 10 somewhere, but where?

Oh, this is too easy. You know it's going to be "Dukes of Hazard" on highest grossing film. In fact, it will probably be the best movie of 2005, as well. :D

I live in a somewhat (by somewhat I mean very) redneckish town in suburban Georgia, and it would not surprise me if many people in this area who see "Dukes of Hazard" come out of the cinema thinking not only was it the best film of 2005, but also the greatest film in the history of motion pictures.

I'm also going to predict "Bewitched" will run a close second on highest gross and best film of 2005. ;)

Mr and Mrs Smith has the potential to be top 10 easily.

I think maybe Star Wars will take the highest grossing for the year, with "War Of The Worlds" a close second. I'm not exactly sure where "Batman Begins" will place. I'm hoping this Batman will dwarf the others. I think it's WAY to early to try to guesstimate with "Chronicles Of Narnia" and "Harry Potter Goblet Of Fire".

Tim,
I'm not sure about that one. Yours is the first mention of it that I've heard. I checked out the trailer, and it looks interesting, and kinda creepy! It's got "Obi-wan" in it, so that's good. It's also got "Michael Duncan Clark" (an under-rated actor in my opinion) so that's another plus. PLUS!! It's got the cute girl from "In Good Company" "Scarlett Johansson"! Hubba hubba! Director "Michael Bay", doesn't exactly inspire excitement, with past duds like "Bad Boys", "Bad Boys II", and "Armageddon". Though, he also did "The Rock", and "Pearl Harbor", both films I liked. I didn't get much from the trailer about the plot of "The Island", but it looks really interesting. ;)

I don't know if this will affect other movies this summer for highest grossing film, but I think that "Batman Begins" is going to be released in IMAX theaters also.

Michael,
"Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy" was in Imax theaters as well... I don't think it helped it any. ;)

My predictions on box office:
1. Star Wars- Episode III
2. The Chronicles of Narnia
3. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
4. King Kong
5. Batman Begins
6. War of the Worlds
7. Fantastic Four
ISH
Although, it's too early to predict Narnia, Kong, and Potter. That's one reason I lumped them together. Then again, I predicted Harry Potter 3's gross a year ahead within two million of the final, domestic gross. I like to brag about that.
The reason I put "War of the Worlds" so low on the list is because it looks like a genuinely BAD movie. It looks like "The Day After Tomorrow" with Tom Cruise. The only redemptive quality that I can see in it is that it has Dakota Fanning.
As far as goodness goes (using the ones I listed above + a few):
1-2. Batman Begins
1-2. The Chronicles of Narnia
3. Star Wars- Episode III
4. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
5. Fantastic Four (it looks like it might be fun)
6. Constantine
7. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
8. King Kong
3,196. War of the Worlds
1. Star Wars- Episode III
2. The Chronicles of Narnia
3. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
4. King Kong
5. Batman Begins
6. War of the Worlds
7. Fantastic Four

I totally agree with your first list, except for the entry of Fantastic Four.
I'm not too sure that will gross that much money? Granted, I have only seen the trailer a few times and have not really heard what the buzz is on the street, but my gut feeling says it's not going to be in the top 10...
