I thought this was a great summer flick.
Went in expecting some laughs, some action, some revealing shots of Angelina and walked out satisfied.

I agree. This was a great "summer flick". Not a whole lot to it, but good action, some great one liners, and a couple of twists along the way. Mr. and Mrs. Smith was a good no brainer, with more laughs than I expected. :)

Sorry guys...
Other than the opening therapy session, I thought that this movie was stupid. The fact that the script was someone's cinema-school thesis urks me.

well, i walked into the theatre feeling neutral, and the movie was a tired series of badly shot and badly edited fights.

i disagree, but maybe it's bc i walked in with such low expectations for the movie.
i thought the therapist scenes were really funny! the chemistry bw jolie & pitt is undeniable, and although there were some lines that just made you want to gag, overall, the movie was funny and entertaining. not a thought provoking movie, but a funny one that kept you entertained in your seta for the full 2 hours!

I may be wrong here, but I do believe that this is a remake of Hitchcock's "Mr. and Mrs. Smith".

It's a remake of the title only. Hitchcock's 1941 movie was the only outright screwball comedy he ever made. Of course, I haven't seen the new "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" yet. It may be a screwball comedy, too, for all I know.

The movie shares its premise with a TV show starring Scott Bakula and Maria Bello.

The television show was called "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." It was short-lived, running only a season in 1996. Bakula and Bello played husband-and-wife spies. I don't remember much about it, but I don't think they were trying to kill one another. Not literally, anyway.
