I Saw the tv-spots and trailer and i noticed that the Movie will also premiere in I-MAX Theaters. How does a 35mm Film look on a giant screen? Do they blow it up into a larger format? Or are they enhancing it digitally so the image will contain more information?

I have seen a few IMAX versions of films over the years, and in my experience the only bonus is in sound. Granted, my local IMAX theater is an IMAX dome, so watching a movie made for flat screens projected onto a dome can really distort things, it isnt very pleasant. They remaster the film, and it ends up on 70mm film and is in a different aspect ratio than 35mm.

You're right, they are apples and oranges, which is why I said BB is my favorite of the two, not necesarily the better film ;)

Wow, I just got back from the theater! What a movie! Batman IS BACK!!! This movie buries any of the previous installments! The plot was excellent, the action was INTENSE, and I have to retract my earlier prediction that "the Tumbler" was lame and an out of context idea for a "Batmobile". They made it work, and work well! I don't think I even loved the first "Batman" this much! Though, there's still something to be said for "Jack Nicholson".
I really liked "Cillian Murphy" as the "Scarecrow". I recognized him strait away from "28 Days Later". I didn't however, recognize "Gary Oldman"! I recognized his face, but couldn't place him. Yet another amazing actor. This film had such a star-studded cast, it was almost like looking at the casting list for "Tombstone"! I honestly can't give enough kudos to "Batman Begins". The one thing I did find wrong with it, was (as Depression mentioned) some of the editing in the beginning of the film was way too quick. It wasn't just the fight scenes in the beginning. Many scenes were too quickly cut. Actually, there's one other thing. I realize this film is supposed to be "dark", but in "Bruce's" test to lead the men fight, there was SO much black in the scenes, that you could barely see what was going on. This also falls hand in had with the first issue though. With as good as this film was however, my guess for the cause would be pushing for the release date.
In any case, I liked this movie just as much as "Spiderman 2". At first, I took Depression's stance, and ranked it above "SM2", but you can't really compare them. They're entirely different films. SM2 is good for it's heroeic scenes, quest for good, and the personality conflict "Peter Parker" faces daily. Everyone can identify with "Peter Parker", the average everyday Joe that got bitten by a radioactive spider... I mean, we've all been there, right? :D "Batman Begins" on the other hand, deals with such a dark background, and is so dark, both figuratively and literally, throughout the film (as it should be) it's just too stark of a contrast by comparison. I'm not sure that many of us could directly identify with being the richest person in the city, owning lots of bleeding edge technology toys, and having "the pick of the litter" as it were. But, it is a dream for many people. Dont' get me wrong. I love Batman, and the "dark persona" they've gone back to since the "television" days. Both "BB" and "SM2" are excellent films, and I like them for differing reasons. I just don't think you can difinitievely say one is better than the other... apples and oranges. ;)
PS,
Could this be "Rutger Hauer's" first "A" film? :D

Personally I now think this is my favorite superhero flick. Sorry SM2, you're crown was short lived!
At first I thought 140 minutes for a Batman movie is going to drag a bit, but after seeing the film I wouldn't have it any other way. To really do Batman justice I think it was necessary. Afterall, he is the most complex (or one of the most) comic book characters out there.
All of the bases are covered from making the transition from Bruce, to Batman. His techniques, his gadgets, his suit, his reasoning, all of it is explained.
I was really excited for the original 2 movies SE's to come out, but after seeing Begins, a lot of that excitement has disappeared.
My only gripe with the film is the quick editing in some places. Most notably in the final fight. I don't think there were even two hits, one from each fighter that were left alone and not pieced together. For everything this film did accomplish, I guess it could be considered minor.

i heard the same thing!
a lot of people have gone to see the special preview showings, and all the reviews that i've read have given it stellar reviews! i'm very surprised, but glad that it revived the series. i am looking forward to watching it!
