Some of you are actual critics or what have you and have, therefore, seen almost every major movie of the year so far. I, on the other hand, (and quite a few others) only go to the theater every week or two.
In chronological order (one of the movies here came out last year, but I didn't get to see it in 2004):
In Good Company
Hide and Seek
In Good Company again
Constantine
Constantine again
Cursed
Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous (NEVER AGAIN)
Sin City
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Star Wars- Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Batman Begins
I would like to go see Batman Begins again the weekend that War of the Worlds opens.

I'm hoping that, as usual, the better films of the year have not yet been released because it's been pretty dry so far in 2005.
The good 2005 films so far:
Grizzly Man
Tony Takitani
Kung Fu Hustle
Old Boy
Mondovino
3-iron
Stolen
The OK 2005 films so far:
Palindromes (need more time to think about this one)
Dear Frankie
Brothers
Batman Begins
Mad Hot Ballroom
How to Eat Watermelon in White Company (and Enjoy It)
The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill
The bad 2005 films so far:
Sin City
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Star Wars: ROTS
Crash
I don't bother to see the big studio fare unless I think there's a good reason to expect it to be good or, sometimes, just because I figure I am going to need to talk about it (Star Wars.) In other words, I don't consider a movie "major" just because it had a high production budget and got released on many screens. For me, the "major" film in the next few months is "Broken Flowers" - I can't wait!
Hey, Will, did you see Masculin Feminin at the Nuart too?

This is what I have seen thus far:
The Wedding Date
Hitch
Fever Pitch
Sahara
The Interpreter
A Lot Like Love
Kingdom of Heaven
Kicking & Screaming
Monster-in-Law
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Batman Begins
As you can see, there are a lot of girly films, that I am a junkie for. I tend not to say this to people bc they think I am insane, but I can't help wanting to go see the girly flicks with the happy endings. It's a female thing, I guess.
I also saw Open Water, but didn't remember if that was this year or last year?!

Chris,
Actually saw it down at the Ken in San Diego (my hometown). Hadn't seen it since my Film History class during my undergrad years.
Also looking forward to seeing "Broken Flowers" as well as "War of the Worlds", "Hustle & Flow", and "Howl's Moving Castle."

"Broken Flowers" is good, but it's mediocre Jarmusch. Which still makes it one of the better movies of the year, but a mild disappointment for a devoted fan like me.

Holy crap, I just saw Jim Jarmusch's "Broken Flowers". Brilliant Bill Murray. Easily one of the best movies I've seen this year. :)
