Well, maybe this is the fan in me talking, but, then again, maybe not. I just got back from the theater, and I loved this movie for what it was. I didn't go with many expectations, as it's a TV show adaptation, or "remake", if you prefer.

It was a lot of what you might expect, but moreover, it was front to back action packed. "DOH" was entertaining througout, and managed to have some decent humor as well. They even kept with the voice-over narration we're used to hearing on the TV show.

Jessica Simpson isn't much of an actor, but she sure did fill Catherine Bach's shoes... er, shorts, well. Both Johnny Knoxville, and Sean William Scott made very good "Duke Boys". These two had me laughing pretty hard quite a few times. Having such well known stars as Willy Nelson, Burt Reynolds, and Lynda Carter was a nice copliment to the cast. I realize a fair portion of our readers here are probably thinking "Lynda who?". For those of you too young to know, Lynda Carter was the original star of the TV show "Wonder Woman", and quite the babe in her day.

I was a little disappointed at the portrayal of "Rosco P. Coltrain" by actor M.C. Gainey. Maybe this is the purist in me, but, "Rosco" in the TV series, was a fumbling, obnoxious, southern idiot cop. His character was the beloved comic relief for the TV show. In the movie, Rosco is a sinister, back woods, evil hick of a cop, that we all dread getting pulled over by, when we're driving cross country. While my complaint isn't with Gainey's acting, rather it was the decision to get rid of the character a lot of us had come to know and love from the TV series.

All in all, I had a lot of fun at this movie. It never got boring, it had well balanced humor, and get this... it even had a plot!

It was money well spent for me.
