Just watched the trailer for this upcoming movie at apple.com. Whoa.
From the trailer, it looks as if Spielberg has once again put together a great ensemble cast for what could be a wrenching rollercoaster similar to his heydeys of Schindler and Private Ryan.
Loved the popcorn of War of the Worlds, but this is the type of Spielberg I truly love. Have to say I'm looking forward to this.
Has anyone heard any advance lowdown on if this is a hit or miss for ole' Stevie?
Sean (...or even highdown if you've got it...)

I can't even get the trailer to play, everytime I click on any of the different sizes I get an error message. "Couldn't open the file "munich(any of them).mov" becuase a bad public movie atom was found in the movie." What the hell is that supposed to mean?
I found a lower quality trailer, and I have to say that this movie could go either way. If it goes well though, people will have more faith in Daniel Craig as the new Bond.

Yeah, the trailer is quite powerful. Spielberg is really in a hurry to finish the film. Munich is supposed to be released on Dec 23rd of this year and there is still some problems with the score but Spielberg did say that the film WILL be out in time. Why not delay the release? Because they want the film to be valid for Oscar contention.

It looks amazing, although I don't know if I have it in me to handle another Schindlers.

Tim,
It's possible that, instead of going to your house with "Starship Troopers" and "Hero", we can all go to Chris's house to watch every Spielberg movie ever made (except for "1941", "Always", and "The Terminal"). :p

Although I love Zhang Ziyi and would be very happy to see a worthwhile adaptation of "Memoirs of a Geisha", I hope that "Munich" will wind up being the best movie of the year (not just at the Oscars but in real terms).

Eddie,
Don't tell me you're desperate enough to link to Entertainment Weekly!

Sean,
"The L.A. Times" has a good article about "Munich", too. You can find a link somewhere at - EXTERNAL LINK -

Of course, Eddie promised he was going to call Munich the best movie of the year before he ever saw it.

I totally agree about the closet scene. It would've been better if the audience was left for themself to determine what sleeping in the closet meant, rather than knowing straight off of the character's intent and actions.
