UPN announced today the cancellation of "Enterprise", the only series left based on the Star Trek universe. For the first time in recent Trek history, the end of a series will not be followed by a replacement. There is also no news about any future Star Trek movie as well. Could this mean a final farewell to the franchise?

Hock,
You know, you could've e-mailed me about this matter. ;)
Anyway, they're already looking ahead to the future. The guestimate is that something won't be shot for about three years, but this will give everyone time to come up with fresh ideas, and this will give fans and newbies a chance to catch up with "Trek" so far.

Oh I forgot about our resident Trek insider! :D
Too bad Enterprise had horrendous ratings this season because the show is just about taking off with good stories, especially the ones with Brent Spiner as Dr. Soong and the origins of Vulcan logic.

Man I wish I received the "Sci-Fi" channel! I only got to see a hand full of episodes of "Enterprise". I liked it! I had no idea they had brought in Brent as "Soong"! That rocks!
Eddie, is the cast of Next Gen. and DS9 coming back?

There is a rumor that Riker and Troi will be in the series finale of "Enterprise". The rumored story would involve the peace delegation being shown the remains of the NX-01, which the Romulans destroyed. However, this is only a rumor at this point in time.

WOO HOO!! Everyone can get UPN!! Had I known, I would have changed my tv habits! Well, being that it's going off the air, I'm going to see if I can acquire them some how. ;)
Eddie,
Actually I meant the movie that won't be shot for 3 years. I realize that it may be a bit too far out to know a cast line up just yet, but I figured if anyone knew...

Josh, "Enterprise" is actually aired on UPN and not the Sci-Fi channel.
The current storyline has the Enterprise encountering the Romulans for the first time. All very interesting stuff considering the timeline for Enteprise is before the formation of the Federation. Anyhow the establishment of the Federation will be dealt with this season as well.

Josh,
"Enterprise" will be arriving on DVD starting in May. As for the movies, it's really anyone's guess at this point in time. However, it's doubtful that a lot of former "Star Trek" actors will return. Everyone is usually too busy fighting over billing order for there to be a successful reunion, though one or two of the performers may be willing to return to the franchise.

u're kidding right?
those Star Trek people are dying for a job. Except for Patrick Stewart,William Shatner and jonathan frankes, all the actors in the different various st series haven't done anything major or minor like guess starring in a tv show. how do they sustain a living?
I'd even say that most Star Trek actors disappear after their Star Trek days.
