The apartment I'm moving into has a big white wall on one end of the living room. I was wondering if I project the image from the projector onto the wall if it will look ok? Or should I invest in a screen?

My brother found his screen material we use for his projector in the Denver area by looking on the internet. It was about 300.00 for I belive a 120 inch screen. We made a frame and staple gunned it to that to make it 90 inch and two years ago had a professional oak cabinet built around it. If you can afford it the screen is the way to go. Everything will look much clearer. Enjoy.

My buddy and I have the same projector. I myself use my screen but my buddy likes to use the bare white wall at his place. I have seen movies on his wall and they look good with little to no difference when he uses his screen. Your wall will work until you find the right screen or DIY screen that will suit your needs. But a wall hung screen or a pull down will make your home theater portable. Think camping in the summer watching movies outdoors!!!!!!

I'd avoid standard latex wall paint. it'll make your picture look washed out. Regular paint doesn't absorb/reflect the light from your projector properly. If you want to go with a wall for a screen surface, check out Screen Goo. It's like a screen, but it's paint. It's kinda expensive, but since you are an obvious videophile (you wouldn't have a projector otherwise!) you may want to check it out.

I would definitely invest in a screen, preferably a gray one. I was initially forced to project my movies onto a wall when I first got my projector about 2 years ago, but within two weeks I was able to find a nice sized (106"

LOL, this is quite and old post. I ended up moving into a different apartment, that wasn't big enough to accomdate a projector screen. I still plan on buying a projector someday when I own my own house.
Right now I'm running a 42 Toshiba DLP HDTV and I'm happy with it. Anything else would have been too big for my living room.
