Well it has been sometime since my last post. I have been enjoying the hell out of my theater (and so has the rest of the neighborhood) and I have come across a problem now number 2 where I am noticing on the DTS-ES discrete skipping when watching the movie. Anyone else out there have issues with Yamaha receivers and DTS problems?

Here is the original post with Rush Hour 2.

Thanks,

Steve.

P.S. "Indian" try this movie on your Yamaha.

Hey Steve! life going well? good.

I actually don't have evil dead so I'll have to netflix it. (not buying right now until I have my projector and probably an hd player of some sort.)
That movie rocks being such an old one.

Enjoy your theater!8)

Panasonic ae900u at this point. However if there is something newer and better at a similar price, then I'll have to check in to that as well.

You own this PJ right? What is your opinion of how it handles black levels? everytime I go to a home theater store they always tell me "go with dlp. it produces better blacks and the hd dvds will have less compression issues with blacks so I would want to go with something that can truly produce the blacks." just curious as to what your opinion is on the matter.

Good to hear from ya again...Yes I LOVE this projector! I never had a PJ before and while over a neighbors house I saw what "screen door" looks like on LCD PJ's. This model is a HUGE improvement over anything in the past. This PJ works great in rooms where you can control the light so make that room as dark as possible. I have found that the screen just washes out if you start to add light to the room. I don't think it would be as dark as dlp but a REALLY close second. The dynamic iris does a great job adjusting the light so that the image is as dark as possible. I am seeing the incredible deals out there on this PJ from when I bought it and it is the best bang for the buck for us "big" 92" + screeners out there!

Enjoy whatever ya get!

Steve.
