This is a wonderful film written and directed by Abel Ferrera. The VHS versions are starting to get warn and it is hard to watch fullscreen when you know there is a cleaned up widescreen version of this new york street classic. Anyone else think this movie needs to get out on DVD?

China Girl is a Romeo and Juliet story in New York. David Caruso from NY Blue played the hothead causing the riff between the Italians and Chinese. Lot's of the movie were filmed on both sides of Mott Street, the Chinatown side and the Little Italy side. This made the movie very authentic.
Abel Ferrara certainly knows how to tell a story. I find all his movies interesting and worth watching.I never heard of R Xmas until it was shown on cable TV. That too, was a smart character driven movie about drug pushers. Just who are the bad guys in this movie?
I would like to see China Girl again just as much as you do.
