Is there something about posting a new topic here, ie a certain amount you have to adhere to? I just wrote a mammoth post that took me quite a bit of time to do. I hit "post topic" and ended up with the topic and reply boxes going blank. I tried hitting back but it just stayed blank. Feck typing all that again lol.

Scotster,

I'm sorry. It must have been temporary glitch; I believe there was some kind of work being done on the site today that may have interferred with a few of the site's functions. No, there is no limit on the amount of words you can post here; no limit I'm aware of.

But I would advise everyone to write up their longer messages in a word processor before posting them, just in case a glitch occurs like here.

Scotster,

Firstly, welcome! You'll find the people here at DVD Town (both staff, and members) are of a high caliber. Everyone here, for the most part, is respectful and helpful. I'm proud to be a member here at DVD Town, for the very concerns you mentioned. You seem like you'll fit right in here.

Again, welcome.

Wow, a friendly board. I gotta be honest there aint many of these left nowadays. Usually i get flamed before i even post anything lol. Cheers for the kind replies.

Usually i do use a word processor when writing a large post but it was a post that came out of nothing this time as i didn't actually plan it. Oh well maybe tonight i'll get the bug again and write it again.

Glad you like my name :p just to clarify its not coz of where i am from tho its coz my name is Scott lol

Cheers

I do what John says, use a word processor. It's a plus because of spell checking and grammar check; however, I still end up looking like a English teacher's nightmare.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Get used to hitting "Ctrl A", to select all of your typed text, then "Ctrl C" to copy it before you hit that "post reply" or "post" button. Then, all you have to do is log in again, go back to the post, and hit "Ctrl V", and you'll be back in business. ;)

That happened to me while writing a review for the entire alien quadrilogy (You cannot believe how much time I spent on that, I talked about everything on the discs too...) when suddenly... poof! All gone. Nowadays I just copy anything that looks like I don't want it getting erased on the offchance it says I must log in. So before you hit that "Post reply" button, just copy it. Then if it all goes to hell you can just as simply paste and post it again.

When i write down for a long time and hit Post Topic/reply, the site takes me to the "log in" page. Even if i already have. When hitting "BACK" everything is Blank.

Respect this!

Just kiddin'. Josh is right, civil discourse is the name of the game here at DVDTown. Not to mention a good ole' intellectual brawl here and again.

Now if we could just get Eddie to like Fight Club...

Sean (not to mention LOTR...) ;)
