Hey guys I’m kinda new here but here are a few movies that I think should be brought to DVD yesterday!

The Shuda's....

The Monster Squad

Starring: Andre Gower, Robby Kiger, Stephen Macht

Plot: Young kids form a club that is devoted to monsters, but soon get more than they bargained for when Count Dracula adjourns to Earth, accompanied by Frankenstein's Monster, the Wolfman, the Mummy, and the Gillman. The uglies are in search of a powerful amulet that will grant them power to rule the world. Our heroes - the Monster Squad are the only ones daring to stand in their way.

Deadly Friend

Starring: Matthew Laborteaux, Kristy Swanson, Michael Sharrett

Plot: A 15 year old scientific whiz kid named Paul Conway, just moved to a new town with his mother. He also has a yellow robot named Beebee which is his friend and protector. Paul befriends the girl next door named Samantha, and she lives with her abusive father who knocks her down some stairs one night and severely injures her. She was on life support in the local hospital, but after a certain amount of time, they pulled the plug on her and she was dead. Paul disguises himself as a hospital worker and takes Samantha's body from the hospital over to the local university. As an attempt to save her life, he implants Beebee's robot microchips into her brain, but discovers not too long after that she is out of control.

The Wizard

Starring: Luke Edwards, Fred Savage, Christian Slater

Plot: Corey and Jimmy Woods are two brothers who are being separated due to their parents divorcing. Jimmy is a mentally unstable kid that has had problems ever since his sister died at a young age. One day, Corey discovers that Jimmy has a natural talent for playing video games. He is one of the best around, and the two journey to the West Coast to compete in a video game championship, but along the way, they must avoid the adults, who are trying to take Jimmy away.

Ski School

Starring: Dean Cameron, Tom Bresnahan, Patrick Labyorteaux

Plot: Rival ski instructors at a prestigious mountain school compete to save their jobs. The infamous "Section Eight", a popular group of skiing partiers are up against some rich stiffs whose only thought is beating their arch rivals in the annual spring pageant.

Here are a few of my “Thank god they didn’t” movies

The Cuda's........

Robot Jox

Starring: Gary Graham, Anne-Marie Johnson, Paul Koslo

Plot: It is post-World War III. War is outlawed. In its place, are matches between large Robots called Robot Jox. These matches take place between two large superpowers over disputed territories. The main character Achilles is a pilot in one of the large Robots. The plot revolves around him and a match for the state of Alaska.

Robot Jox could have been a great movie, and its one of those movies that I looked back on to when I saw it at 12 years old. I remembered big robots fighting and how good the effects were. How gutted was I when I bought the vhs version! The effects are unbelievably bad even for the 80’s/90’s and the acting is even worse.

Arena

Starring: Paul Satterfield, Hamilton Camp, Claudia Christian

Plot: An intergalactic fighting competition between champions of various worlds has traditionally been won by a species much larger and stronger than humans. Entering the contest, a human finds he has to battle against not just his opponents and his self-doubts, but the corrupt system.

Basically it’s the same as Robot Jox (its actually the sequel) only it doesn’t use robots it uses people and instead of being about world domination its about universe domination. Why is the movie bad? See why Robot Jox is bad and multiply by 100

A few mentions of some movies that have recently made it to dvd, and rightly so!

The Did's......

Loverboy: Buy it, its amazing. Whenever you can get your hands on it do so.

Summer School: Same as above, excellent movie. Remember though you gotta love your 80’s movies to enjoy these movies!

License to Drive: Ahhh 80’s again. What is it with the 80’s movies being so good? Reminds me of the ZX Spectrum. Possibly the worst graphics of any computer but by far the best gameplay. They came into their own in the 80’s too!

It’s a shame none of these are available in the uk yet :(

There are LOADSSS more that i know of, i just can't think of them at the moment. This should be enough for now anyways. Let me know what movies you think "shuda, cuda....Did".

Scotster :p
