I know this is way in advance, but does anyone have any idea as to when Lord of War will be released on DVD? After the meager box office number's it recieved, I makes me think it'd be released reasonably soon.

I don't think anyone has an idea right now. I'd expect it on DVD early 2006. But poor Andrew Niccol (director). Two failed, yet good films, in a row. His film previous to Lord of War was S1m0ne. Then again, all his films he directed didn't do well. His only other film he directed was Gattaca.
On the otherhand, the films he wrote did well. (The Terminal, The Truman Show)

Gattaca was sweet, but Simone was lame. I love Pacino, but that flick was pretty awful and Lord of War looked like yet another action-comedy flick with no reason to go see it. How come Cage does all of these dumb action flicks (National Treasure was also lame, but I liked Face/Off and COn Air) and then aturn around and do these dramatic creative masterpieces like Adaptation? I don't know...

"National Treasure" grossed over $173,000,000.
"Adaptation" grossed about $21,000,000.
The popcorn flicks pay the bills.

Even indy god John Cassavetes paid the bills by starring in Hollywood schlock. It beats waiting tables.

I saw Lord of War on my birthday, I thought it was a pretty decent flick and certainly gives you food for thought by the end. From what I saw, I really wouldn't say it was an action-comedy considering the topic and substance of the film. I'd say it's closer to an investigative drama more than anything else.
