Is there ever going to be a special edition of Bram Stoker's Dracula? The current DVD releases are terrible.

I picked up the SUPERBIT DVD a few months back ($9 on sale), but haven't opened/viewed it yet, so can give no comment on quality. And don't think it had extras (?)

Years ago, there was a CRITERION LaserDisc version [with many extras, including a Francis Ford Coppola commentary track - I think] - again, I don't know if this SpEd was ever brought to DVD, and I know that Criterion lossed the "rights" to some of their prior LD-edition content [even prior DVD releases, such as "This is Spinal Tap" for example].

Since B.S.'s DRACULA is controlled by Sony Pictures, they will probably (eventually) release a SpEd DVD in the future ($$$), as well as put it out in HD (for their Blu-ray player). Gotta do a remaster though first.

The SUPERBIT DVD is amazing in sound and quality and is far superior to the first dvd release.
However there are no special features what so ever which makes it dissapointing.

I know I heard rumors about a Special Edition from time to time.. let us hope it happens.

I know for a fact there will be a Dracula SE comming out July-Sept. I'm not sure the exact date. I happened to be in the room with the Sony Marketing dept for their yearly release schedule.

I've hearing about the SE for a decade already. I'll believe it when I see it.
