I hope someone can help me.
When I watch a dvd through the s-video plug in and it's a scene with the screen totally black, the image starts blinking. This makes hard to follow the captions. This doesn't happen with the rca plug-in, and with the s-video it doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes I'm lucky and have no problem. (it's only with the black screen, the rest of the movie is perfect). I'm not sure what it is: THE S-VIDEO WIRE, THE TV (SONY TRINITRON), OR THE DVD (DAEWOO). I also have a problem watching movies with a lot of bright. It looks like a vcd on the bright areas (with this bad looking squares, not totally defined). ANY HELP WOULD BE COMPLETLY APPRECIATED. thanks

I had the same problem with my old s-video connection to my TV. On some DVDs, not all, there are scenes where it starts to blink for no apparent reason. Didn't think much about it until I saw your post.
I recently changed my TV and have switch ed to component video. Never saw any blinking again.
