Am I the only one who was a bit dissapointed about schmidt(get it;)?
Allthough the film certainly has humor, in the end I found it to slow and lacking a point.

It didn't have a point in the end? Huh? Alrighty then, not to give any spoilers away, but I'm about to. The point was whether he felt he made a difference to anyone, or anything, during his life. In the end he made a difference to one small orphan child that he sponsored. He made a difference to someones life that he, most likely, would never meet. I thought that was beautiful and it made a very heart touching point.
I know a number of people who found the movie depressing, and well, I can't say it was depressing but it was rather sad. However, in the end it had a very valuable point, which to me...had a lot of heart and challenged the audience to do a lot of soul searching. To me, the film painted a picture of what we have to look forward to as we age, and that part of it was sad. However, if I can make a difference to one person in my life then to me...my life will have been worth every moment. [:)]
