If you are looking for the Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD Player it is now available on Amazon through Electronic Expo for $385.88. Incredible price for this player.
Just click on HDDVD.org and then the ad for the player.

The HD-A20 is based on the almost one year old HD-A2 model and offers the same feature set with the exception of added ***1080p*** output capability. The player has been advertised for some time on the Internet, but is now officially available in retail stores, Toshiba said.
he HD-A20 carries a suggested retail price of $500, while the MSRP of the HD-A2 has been dropped to $400. However, at the time of this writing, there were numerous online stores that were offering the new player for about $400, while its predecessor could be purchased for $300. The XA2 remains Toshiba’s high-end HD DVD player with an MSRP of $800.

MRA,
The HD-DVD format is just a year old, having been introduced in April of 2006 with the Toshiba A1 and XA1 players. Did you mean to refer to those models, because the A2 and XA2 were introduced just a few months ago?

Um ...maybe!??
I got an A2 last June! Where were you? [(OK, call me a liar!)] -he he--
I'm believe it is based on the A2. (I don't think they would base something new on something that far back? and look at the closeness of the model nos.)
The Toshiba HD-A2 was released in early December 2006,
which was last year,
...ssssooooo ... it was about a year ago!!????~~:~)) LOL
Perhaps the writer was thinking of the intro date for the first HD DVD player
when writing this?

But look at the plummeting PRICES, not my post.
Maybe you should keep me busy with some
contest forms to fill out so I don't keep posting in here?
PS There is no dash in HD DVD-->(:~)<~~~~~
consider this:
Right now, I COULD get a 37" HDTV, + HD DVD player,
and surround sound for < $1,000.00! ...wow!!

Matt,
The older you get, the more distorted and compressed time becomes to you. Chalk it up to my advancing years. :)

I was making fun of myself. Four months ago really isn't that close to a year ago.
My bad.
