I just wanted to give all you loyal readers an update on everything DVDTOWN.com.

News and reviews back at full speed:
After a couple of months with a lower than normal rate of reviews and news we are now technically able to give you full coverage again. So start to enjoy daily reviews, news, high resolution cover art and more.

My Town BETA will open on January 31st:
We will make the first new release of My Town available on January 31st. It will again make it possible to add titles to your collection and wish lists. We will continue to add features on a weekly basis after that. We will base our new features heavily on what you request so we hope that you will help us build the best community for people who love movies.

2007 will be big:
A new business structure of DVDTOWN.com has secured us the resources necessary to develop and improve our site in the direction we want so expect 2007 to be a great year. It will also be the year where we will have our 10th Anniversary. So a lot of celebration will happen this coming August.

Lastly, I want to thank you all. For your patience and support. You are the reason we are and we never forget that.

A few questions about the new mytown....

1. Will we have to recreate our lists or will the old ones be there?

2. Will there be a way to add non-standard DVD's....I have things like DVD's of disc golf tournaments (Which are retail, with UPC codes, but in the past have not been acceptable even when I've provided links to their purchase sites.) There are many types of small hobby related DVD's that should have a place on Mytown.

3. Will there be any way to subdivide our lists under categories like Movies, Television, Live Concerts, etc?

1)
Your old data will be available in the new version of My Town.

2 and 3)
We hope to add this feature in the future. The idea is that we will release new features and bug fixes on a weekly basis.
