I have had the Xbox 360 HD DVD Add On for 3 months now, with no problems whatsoever. Tonight, I tried 3 different HD discs and as soon as it starts to load from the Xbox screen an error comes up "Can't Read Disc". Short and sweet. I tried a regular old dvd and it worked just fine.
As I started to write this I got thru to Xbox support and she had me unplug the add on for 3 minutes. After I replugged everything and turned it on, everything worked. Anyone else had this issue? For anyone who hasnt but does in the future, hopefully I saved you a phone call.

Toshiba tech support provides the same "cure" for their stand-alone players. It's like rebooting your computer. Starting over usually solves the problem. I haven't had to do this, but it's what tech support told me to do if anything ever did happen. Certainly, we've all experienced this solution regarding our computers, no?

I work in Tech Support and that "reboot" is usually what fixes problems. Sometimes the software just gets mangled and this reboot just resets everything. Heck I did the same thing in the laundry room the other day. The washer wasn't reading my card (I live in a building for those of you wondering why I need a card) so I unplugged it for 10 seconds and plugged it back in and voila!
