When trying to play Pffice Space and some other older FOX DVD's, Widescreen doesn't look right. I pretty much have to tell the TV to play it 4:3 and watch it in a little box. 4:3 or 16:9 it has the same sixe black stripes, it just streatches it in widescreen and distorts the picture (everyone looks like fat dwarves). Can anyone help?

That's not the TV, it's the disc. Office Space isn't anamorphically enhanced, so to get it to fill up your screen you need to zoom it.

Yes, "Zoom" is the best view mode you have because the 16:9 or the "Smart Stretch" modes would distort the picture. The 4:3 mode makes widescreen movies look too small, lol.
