I have been running Intervideo WinDVD on windows XP for a couple of years and have not had any problems until a few weeks ago. Now, I get a lot of clipping or rhythmic static (fast and continuous) while watching dvds and sometimes while playing cds. I don't know what the cause is, so I certainly don't know how to solve it. To anyone who can help, thanks for your time!

Rip a chapter from a DVD to your hard drive. Then play it with WinDVD. If the problem stops, it's probably time for a new DVD-ROM drive. If not...I'll have to think about it.
